In the period from December 16th to January 15th in zones 0 , 1 , 1A , 2 and 3 parking fee is not charged on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays.
Hourly ticket purchased in the zone 3 is valid for the zones 0 , 1 , 1A and 3 .
Hourly ticket purchased in the zone 0 is valid for the zones 0 , 1 and 1A .
Hourly ticket purchased in the zone 1 i 1A is valid just in the zones 1 and 1A .
Hourly ticket purchased in the zone 2 is valid just in the zone 2 (Port of Opatija and Port of Volosko).
The obligation to pay the hourly parking fee arises upon the expiration of ten (10) minutes from the arrival at the parking. A 10-minute delay does not apply:
- if the payment is made by using the prepaid parking coupon,
- for the "Privileged parking permit 1.000 hours" users (residents of Opatija) (article 13. paragraph 4. of the the General terms and conditions)
- if the parking space occupancy fee applies (according to the General terms and conditions, article 7. paragraph 2., or the General terms and conditions for parking in the Port of Opatija and in the Port of Volosko)
- if a permit is used for parking vehicles of persons with disabilities in accordance with Article 21 of the General terms and conditions.
The obligation to pay the hourly parking ticket in zone 1A arises after sixty (60) minutes from the time of arrival at the parking lot. The 60-minute grace period applies only to the first hour of parking.

A list of streets and parking lots with year-round, semi-annual, or seasonal charges can be found in the Decision on the Determination of Public Parking Spaces Subject to Charges by the Town of Opatija. The current amendments to the decision were published in the Official Gazette of the Town of Opatija (in Croatian) No. 11/25, dated August 4, 2025, and are applicable from August 12, 2025.
Parking fees - Billing periods and timings
Open public parking areas are divided into five (5) zones: zone 0 , zone 1 , zone 1A , zone 2 and zone 3 .
Zones 0 , 1 , 1A and 3 with parking payment obligation throughout the year:
In open public parking lots with year-round payment, payment is generally made according to the following schedule, except in places where otherwise specified:
- from October 1st to March 31st - every day, including sundays and holidays, from 8.00 to 18.00
- from April 1st to September 30th - every day, including sundays and holidays, from 7.00 to 24.00
Zone 2 with parking payment obligation throughout the year payment is generally made according to the following schedule, except in places where otherwise specified:
- from October 1st to March 31st - every day, including sundays and holidays from 8.00 to 18.00
- from April 1st to May 31st - every day, including sundays and holidays from 7.00 to 22.00
- from June 1st to September 30th - every day, including sundays and holidays from 7.00 to 24.00
Parking with half-year payment obligation payment is usually made according to the following schedule, except in places where otherwise specified:
- From April 1st to September 30th - every day, including sundays and holidays, from 7.00 to 24.00
Parking spaces with seasonal payment obligation:
Seasonal payment: June 1st to September 30th – every day, including sundays and holidays, from 7.00 to 24.00
